Route : Ha Noi – Ha Giang – Dong Van– Ba Be Lake – Ha Noi
After pick up at 8 AM at your hotel, you will have a 6-hour transfer to Ha Giang. You can witness the change from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi to the peacefulness of rural areas. Short stop for photos or a short walk in the middle of the field nearby. Lunch at a local restaurant on the way. Arrive at Ha Giang city at about 4 PM. Take the rest of day wandering around Tay villages where there are vivid rice fields, traditional wooden stilt houses tiled with palm leaves or relaxing by and cooling off in a stream nearby. Have a local dish for dinner and call it a day.
Start the day with an early waking up to the sunrise. After breakfast, wind up the mountain to Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark. The first destination is Quan Ba district. Stop at some places to admire the majestic nature and for photo taking opportunities. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Yen Minh town. After lunch, head to Dong Van. Take a 1,5-hour short walk along the mountain trails and through local Hmong villages before paying a visit to the King of Hmong Palace in Sa Phin valley. Reach Dong Van at about 4.30 PM. If time permits, walk up the French Fortress of Dong Van district, where you can have the whole view of the ancient town.
Spend 1-2 hours visiting Dong Van local market or enjoy sipping aromatic coffee in Dong Van Old Quarter. If Sunday, there will be a local traditional market fair, where you get to see the Hmong people in their traditional colorful dresses. Then it will take 20 mins to reach Ma Pi Leng pass, one of the four greatest passes in Northern Vietnam. A 2,5-hour off road walk is specially arranged for you to reach the top of the pass, twisting through some Hmong villages, and finally down the valley where you will be overwhelmed by the breath-taking mountainous landscape by the Chinese border and captivating Nho Que river. Continue to Meo Vac for a local lunch before heading to Ba Be lake.
Enjoy last breakfast in this rural paradise before 3-hour boating around the lake. Short walk to visit Cam village of Tay people. Follow Nang river to Puong cave, a tunnel cave with enchanting limestone stalactites, stalagmites and lots of bats. Continue to Buoc Lom wharf where you say goodbye to Ba Be and return Hanoi..
